This Hybrid Action Figure put out by BanDai is four inches tall. It is the Teen version of Gohan.
Gohan's name is dirived from the Japanese word meaning "cooked rice". The name continues Toriyama's naming theme using foods. Rice is a grain and isn't usually thought of as a vegetable, but it's a plant part. And, since "vegetable" is a food term, and not a plant term, gohan continues the name theme for Saiyans, deriving names from vegetables. The word Saiya itself is an anagram of the Japanese word for vegetable, "yasai".
In designing Gohan as a teen, Toriyama first incorporated a jacket and glasses to his attire, and usually, his hair wasn't spiked like it is seen in the finished design. At one point, Gohan was supposed to take the place of his father as the central character. But, Toriyama believed that Gohan wasn't suited therefore he didn't go through with it.
